For the public, the Legislative Information Desk staff serves as
the primary initial resource for anyone seeking help in participating
in the legislative process. Desk staff provides assistance and answers
questions about the General Assembly, the legislative process, the
Department of Legislative Services and its programs, and State government.
The main Information Desk is located in the basement of the Legislative
Services Building. During each legislative session, a second Information
Desk is open on the ground floor of the State House. Desk staff
may be reached from anywhere in Maryland toll free or by e-mail.
The main Information Desk serves as the distribution center
for legislative documents, reports, and other publications and materials.
Committee votes are available only from the Information Desks.
Staff will mail a limited number of copies of bills, amendments,
votes, and most current year publications. A selected list of legislative
documents and publications is posted on this Web site for review.
Contact the Information Desk for availability.

Desk staff members, under the direction of the Visitors' Program
Coordinator, also serve as guides for the General Assembly's educational

and the legislative process.
